From the shores of Lake Victoria to the savannahs of Queen Elizabeth National Park, the country offers plenty of variety. Kampala, its lively capital, is a welcoming introduction to local food, markets and everyday life. For many visitors, the highlight is tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Chimpanzee tracking in Kibale National Park and boat trips beneath Murchison Falls are other memorable experiences. The drier months generally offer easier conditions for wildlife viewing and forest walks.
